Over a period of five years FeyeCon together with Amorim Cork developed an improved process for the removal of trichloro anisole (TCA) from cork granules using supercritical carbon dioxide. TCA is the main cause of the cork taste which can ruin your wine. After the installation of our first Corberus machine in 2020, we have increased the capacity dramatically and are now nearing a total of one billion cork stoppers a year.
Using our latest developments the process uses only 25% of the energy, and just 10% of the CO2 required in previous cork cleaning applications. On top of this the investment costs are below 50% of the original price point. We are proud to push the envelope on SFE to create a good Return on Investment for our clients.
