TEXTURING AGENT – INSTATEX, STABILIZING SPREADS AND SUSPENSIONS
In food applications, fats and waxes are excellent options for stabilizers, because they are easily digested, not soluble in water and inexpensive. However, micronizing such ductile materials is usually cumbersome and energy intensive. To overcome these issues, FeyeCon developed InstaTex powders with a one-step micronization process, which are a perfect and easy texturing agent for margarines, spreads, dressings and creams.
EASY FORMULATING – IMPROVED MEDICINE ADMINISTRATION
FeyeCon produces micro and nano-sized particles from Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) to improve formulation and create alternative routes of administration. Both improve patient comfort and bioavailability of an API. Micronizing particles into specific drug polymorphisms can also lead to shelf-life enhancement of a final formulation. By changing the process conditions and nozzle, the size and morphology of the powder can be varied to meet specific requirements. Using carbon dioxide as an alternative for organic solvents provides greener processing under mild conditions.
EXCEPTIONAL TEXTURE FOR COSMETICS
Conventional micronization, used to texturize fats, is a cumbersome and energy-intensive process. Our CO₂ micronization technology provides a simplified and environmentally-friendly alternative. With it, three-dimensional porous particles from fats and waxes are created, delivering an array of textures. The powders are stable, free-flowing and easily dispersed into a final application mixture. Furthermore, formulation is simplified and energy efficient, thanks to the low temperature mixing. The micronized particles have an increased surface area, giving bulk to a product and reducing the amount of raw materials needed while retaining the same texture. During micronization, active ingredients can be added simultaneously. Adding functionality and structure in a single-step process. The simplified formulation and processing, coupled with lower energy consumption lead to significant cost-savings.
